It's a Wireless World at America's Center®

Wireless networking is better than ever at America's Center®, the convention complex in downtown St. Louis. The center's system uses a BlueSecurityTM 2100 Controller from Bluesocket, Inc., a leader in open wireless security and management, to provide wireless data and voice services and WLAN management and security.

Currently, there are 12 secure wireless access points in the 1.7 million square foot facility serving the Washington Avenue lobby, main first floor corridor, Plaza Lobby, Second Floor Atrium, walkway from South to North meeting room on the second floor, America's Ballroom pre-function area and the press box at the Edward Jones Dome portion of the complex. Expansion of wireless communications services to Exhibit Halls 1 through 6 is expected to be complete by the end of 2007.

Because America's Center is designed to accommodate multiple, simultaneous events, the wireless system also can be custom set with different security levels for specific access points and client needs. This means that free access or password-secured access can be set for select areas in the facility. The wireless system is free to visitors and guests of America's Center.

The America's Center convention complex features 502,000 square feet of contiguous exhibition space in six halls; 83 meeting rooms; the 1,411-seat Ferrara Theatre; the St. Louis Executive Conference Center and the 70,000-seat Edward Jones Dome.

During 2007, the wireless system will expand to provide Internet services to exhibitors and vendors in the facility's exhibition space.

For detailed information on the wireless system and America's Center's extensive telecommunications programs, contact Jack Canavera, telecommunications manager at jcanavera@americascenter.org.
