OUTDOOR EXHIBIT SPACE AT AMERICA'S CENTER IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

St. Louis' convention space offers groups fresh air. The America's Center convention complex includes a 3-acre park with grass display areas and walking paths for conventions, tradeshows, and special events which have outdoor exhibit or staging requirements. The park is located in downtown St. Louis on Broadway between Convention Plaza and Cole Street, directly across from the east entries of Exhibit Hall 6 which is also known as the Edward Jones Dome.

The exterior venue provides 25,000 square feet of exhibit area, adding variety to the 502,000 square feet of interior exhibit space available at the America's Center convention complex. More than 150 10x10 exhibit booths can be set-up on the park's green space. Sidewalks between the display spaces are 14 feet wide, giving attendees room to comfortably walk between booths and meet with colleagues. Access to electrical power and water is available on the site.

"The park enhances and adds variety to the total package of meeting space we offer our convention and meeting clients," said Carole Moody, President of the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (CVC).

Moody said the green space was also designed to provide a gathering place for those attending special events at the Edward Jones Dome. The park also offers a visual link between the convention complex and the nearby Laclede's Landing entertainment district.

A 650-foot long service road, capable of supporting a 4-ton vehicle, runs north to south along the park's eastern edge to allow for the easy movement of displays, staging and equipment. Along the southeast corner of the park, a decorative brick compass design is embedded into a 70-foot diameter circular concrete walking plaza. The park is landscaped with a variety of deciduous and evergreen trees and includes a tree and shrub-filled berm that creates a visual and sound break between the park and city traffic.

The $1.5 million park is owned by the St. Louis Regional Convention & Sports Complex Authority, which has dedicated it as Robert J. Baer Plaza in honor of the organization's original chairman.

The park is managed and marketed by the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (CVC) as part of the America's Center convention complex. The CVC is the sales and marketing organization which sells St. Louis city and county as a convention and meeting site and as a leisure travel destination.
