Gateway Arch RiverboatsDESCRIPTION: The Gateway Arch Riverboats are a unique attraction on the St. Louis Gateway Arch Riverfront. The Tom Sawyer and the Becky Thatcher riverboats have indoor and outdoor seating for sight seeing, dinner and chartered cruises. Concessions are sold on board and on the dock at the Arch View Café. Patrons have a great view of the Riverfront during daytime and evening cruises. ADDRESS: 50 S. Lenore K. Sullivan Blvd. HOURS: Sight seeing cruises daily March through September at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.; October & November 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Cruises available based on demand December through February. Dinner cruises Thursday through Sunday 7:30 p.m. ADMISSION: Sight Seeing, adults (17 & up), youth (13-16) $10.00, children (3-12) $4.00. Dinner Cruises, adults $35.00, children $15.00. ANNUAL ATTENDANCE: 150,000 SIGNIFICANCE: The Gateway Arch Riverboats are the only boats of its kind operating in St. Louis. They provide a glimpse into the past of the Mississippi and the Gateway Arch Riverfront. WHAT’S NEW: Charter cruises are now available for private parties and corporate events. Specialty and holiday cruises are offered seasonally throughout the year. Box or Hot dog lunches are available on sight seeing cruises with advanced orders. ANNUAL SPECIALTY CRUISES: Fourth of July Fireworks cruise, New Years Eve cruise, Lock ‘N Dam cruises (Saturdays in the fall), Oktoberfest cruises (Sundays in October), Kimmswick cruises (select Thursdays June through October). HISTORY: Established in 1891, the Gateway Arch Riverboats are the oldest excursion boat company on the Mississippi. The Company has operated vessels throughout the inland rivers over the years and has had St. Louis as its homeport since 1917. Formerly known as Streckfus Steamers, Gateway Arch Riverboats has operated some of the Mississippi's most famous riverboats: The J.S., St. Paul, Washington, Capitol, President and the largest inland excursion vessel the Admiral. HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY: All areas are accessible. GIFT SHOP: The gift shop is found on the Gateway Arch Riverboats dock. The shop provides postcards, posters, t-shirts, mugs and other memorabilia of St. Louis and the Gateway Arch Riverfront. WHERE TO GET LUNCH: The Arch View Café located on the dock of the Riverboats offers a variety of food with a great view of the Gateway Arch and the Mighty Mississippi. WHAT’S NEARBY: The Gateway Arch, the President Casino, the Casino Queen and the historic Laclede’s Landing entertainment district. Other downtown attractions, including Busch Stadium, the International Bowling Museum and St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame, the Edward Jones Dome, the Eugene Field House and St. Louis Toy Museum and the Old Courthouse are within walking distance.
