Banquet Server, Westin St. Louis Hotel
Craig was working a banquet function when he discovered an elderly man who had been wandering around the hotel corridor. He approached the gentleman to offer his assistance, but the gentleman appeared to be ill and was not able to give Craig any information. 911 was contacted and Craig stayed with the gentleman and tried to calm his apprehension and make him feel comfortable until emergency services arrived. It was determined that the guest was suffering from dementia. Although he was not registered as a guest, the hotel staff was able to find family who were staying in the hotel. Craig’s concern for the gentleman, his compassion and assistance helped prevent a serious situation from occurring and the family was most appreciative.
