An elderly customer came to the desk one evening because she was unable to reach her daughter by phone. Her daughter was supposed to pick her up at a particular time, but had failed to show up. Christy asked if there was anyone else that she could call and proceeded to call a few other people, but was unable to reach anyone to take the customer home. Christy offered to call a taxi for her, but she said she didn’t have any money to pay for it. By this time, the customer was in tears and was extremely frustrated that her family had failed to pick her up. The shopping center was closing and Christy felt bad so she offered to take her home even though she lived on the opposite side of town. Christy and a colleague took the customer home that night. The next weekend, the customer and her family came back to the mall to thank Christy.
